The final ABC-SOAPnet Super Soap Weekend at Disney’s
Hollywood Studios will take place Nov. 15 and 16.
However,there is a lot happening this year to
celebrate the event’s last appearance at the Walt
Disney World Resort.
“We have certainly enjoyed playing host to the ABC
soap stars and their fans over the years, and we’re
going to make sure this year’s event is a fitting
finale,” said Rilous Carter, vice president,
Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
For starters, Cameron Mathison will headline the
two-day event. Joining Mathison are 35 stars from
the ABC daytime dramas, including Thorsten Kaye,
Aiden Turner and Rebecca Budig from “All My
Children;” Erika Slezak, Michael Easton and Kristen
Alderson from “One Life to Live;” and Laura Wright,
Kelly Monaco and Jason Thompson from “General
Hospital.” Throughout the weekend, fans will have
the opportunity to get up close with these stars
during celebrity motorcades, autograph sessions,
game shows, talk shows, casting calls and
interviews.
In addition to the celebrities, special trivia and
commemorative clip packages honoring the 45th
anniversary of “General Hospital,” the 40th
anniversary of “One Life to Live,” the 10,000th
episode of “All My Children” and past Super Soap
Weekends will be shown during the event. Each day’s
event will conclude with the always popular Colgate
Total Street Jam, a star-studded concert with hosts
Sherri Shepherd of “The View” and Mathison. ABC
performers will include Ricky Paull Goldin, Bobbie
Eakes, Eden Riegel, Jason Tam, Brittany Underwood,
Kassie DePaiva, Kristen Alderson, Brandon Barash and
Bradford Anderson. Super Soap Weekend began in
1996,and this final event here will be dedicated to
the fans, with special retrospectives and exclusive
productions. ABC plans to embark on a special 2009
“Soap Nation Tour,” a collection of nationwide
events designed to offer fans greater access to
stars in more cities, more often throughout the
year.
ABC-SOAPnet Super Soap Weekend is included with
theme park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
