Disney's "Grad Night," an annual celebration for high school senior classes.
Walt Disney World Resort to Host the Largest Disney Grad Nite Ever (2006 Press Release)
On April 28, 29, and May 5, 6, high school seniors will be treated to the
largest Disney Grad Nite celebration ever at the Walt Disney WorldŽ Resort.
The Magic Kingdom Park will transform its magical lands into a graduate-only
private party featuring chart-topping entertainment, unlimited use of select
attractions and much more.
"This is the biggest and most diverse entertainment line-up we've ever had,"
said Tim Hill, director of special programs for the Walt Disney WorldŽ
Resort. "There will be something for everyone. The line-up is so big we had
to spread it over two weekends."
The vast line-up includes MTV Video Music Award winner, Fall Out Boy,
performing April 28, 29, and top selling rock band Simple Plan performing
May 5, 6. Each weekend includes performances from R 'n' B artist Omarion,
Latin hip-hop artist Frankie J, pop artist Fefe Dobson and rising star Teddy
Geiger.
For over 30 years, thousands of seniors pile out of their buses and invade
the Magic Kingdom Park, during Disney Grad Nite. This year's celebration
begins at 10 p.m. and continues until 4 a.m. The night has endless
possibilities for fun including some long-time favorites and plenty of new
experiences.
Once inside the Magic Kingdom, seniors can get soapy with friends in the
Foam Zone in Fantasyland, play free arcade games all night in Tomorrowland
and celebrate throughout the Theme Park as Florida's most popular DJs play a
variety of music styles. The entire Theme Park will be turned into a giant
nightclub. There will also be a karaoke stage, themed lounges for relaxing
and a highlight of the event - the Class of 2006 lights-out fireworks
display.
Schools can get a head start on the fun with the popular pre-event Blast-Off
parties. The Magic Kingdom Blast-Off party and the all-new Disney's Animal
Kingdom Theme Park Blast-Off party include attractions, DJs, and snacks.
Students attending the new Animal Kingdom party will be among the first to
experience Disney's newest thrill attraction Expedition EVEREST that opens
Spring 2006.
