Lots of changes, huh? I guess the profit margin was not quite enough this last quarter. I know with fuel prices everything has increased in price.

This one was to correct a point were there was potential abuse. People reserving, then going out and finding better deals. This will also allow them more flexibility when they sell inventory to consolidators (Expedia etc). Again, I don't fault Disney for tightening the belt. This is usually when most company's start to relax on their profit margins and Disney is not doing that. Share holders would agre ;-)

Yeah, think about the free dining promo...people could potentially put a 2 week courtesy hold on a reservation and reserve a spot that they may not pay for while someone who had the cash in had wasn't able to book their trip because there was no availability on the package. I'm sure Disney was losing money because the people with the cash would book other vacations instead of a Disney trip when they couldn't book what they wanted.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of inconsiderate people out there. They put down a reservation, whether it's for a hotel or dinner, and don't let anyone know about it. If there's a charge for not showing up, they probably call to complain about being charged. Sheesh!

i agree - most people do not inform the other party involved when they've decided to cancel or change plans. i make my vacation plans and have my deposit check ready - i always mail my payments in, including the deposit, so even 7 days will not be a problem, you just write your confirmation on the bottom when you get it and send it out that day! (credit cards in my house are for emergency purposes only, and even then it's up to a vote!lol anyway it works for us - i have no credit card debt and intend never to have any!) i have noticed that when i have changed reservations, especially for dining, people have been very surprised that i want to cancel the original one at the same time - it's kind of sad really. the amount of money that disney looses must be considerable, especially during time-limited promotions like free dining.
Crazy for Disney! I'd live there if they'd let me!
