Fort Wilderness, to rent a golf cart or not? (3/8)

TOPIC: Fort Wilderness, to rent a golf cart or not?

I know about the trail linking the two resorts but I also knew it was only for horse drawn carriages and jogging/walking but I was curious if they also allowed carts. I was thinking about having a meal at Whispering Canyon and taking the cart would be nice. This is not listed in the map section but I have all the jogging maps, anyways, here is the one for Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness lodge.

To answer my query, no, there is no trail or path available to the carts to travel Wilderness lodge.

Yes, but, driving the cart would be even easier and more scenic but mostly just more convenient. I for whatever reason just associate the two resorts as one resort like Port Orleans or something.

Also, to add to the details, I've found that the carts can handle up to 5 persons (not 4 as you might think).

When we get back I will compile a complete FAQ so keep the questions and comments coming.

Yes, Michael is right. The golf carts can handle 5 persons or less. Sometimes even 6 or 7. You have the driver seat and the passenger seat in front. Thats 2 people. And there is a bench in back that holds up to 3 people. But if you have small kids 4 could squeeze back there. You could also squeeze a small child in front inbetween the driver and passenger.

so true bina, we have put 3 kids in the back, 2 adults in the front, one small kid between us and one on my lap. it's possible but cramped. i'm big on the carts - like i said it's great when the kids are tired and you can explore the campground which is lots of fun!
