Ever wonder what used to be where Art of Animation is now? Before you blurt out "The abandoned Pop Century expansion" have a look at this:

There was a show at Epcot called "Skyleidoscope" which involved ultra lights and even the Dream Finder blimp. I've been told there were other shows that used this area for take off and landing and that the whole thing was shut down after a fatal accident.
The shape of what is know called "Hour Glass Lake" has changed since then as well so it's hard for me to find a matching satellite picture from today... actually, if you look at Google maps and zoom out far enough you will see the shape of the surrounding water change because they use an older photo for the long range image. I took many different layers from the USGS and as near as I can tell this is where it was...
