The dates for the Christmas Day Parade taping will be on 12/5 and 12/6 this year (2008). Unlike years passed this year tickets will not be given out for free but rather anyone with a a valid ticket will be able to take part. This is of course limited to capacity like any other event
My family and I will be there on 12/5. We are newbies and have no idea where to go for this parade taping. Can you share any tidbits for us? Where to go? What time? Thanks!!!!
Be there at Rope Drop even before. This would mean being at the park an hour or an hour and half before park opens. This means if park is posted at opening at 9:00 then you need to be there in line by 8:00. Then find a spot on Main Street in front of the Castle and be prepared for a long day.
We went once and stood around for a little while and decided to forget it. Then we went and did the rides with very little wait. It was great until they stopped taping. It isn't like what you see on Christmas morning. You don't watch the parade straight through. They start and stop it and tape only certain sections, then set up for the next one. That's why it takes 2 days to do the taping.
There are 180 Day(s), 23 Hour(s), 21 Minute(s), 9 Second(s) Til I leave for Disney World!

I'm almost glad I won't be in the park those 2 days. We arrive the afternoon of the 5th but will be spending that night and Saturday at Downtown Disney. We don't check in to the Poly until Sunday so this will be over by then. I was debating making a few changes to arrange for park tickets for Saturday but I'm not sure I want to stand around and watch a production crew work all day. The kids would get bored with that real quick. I think I'll stick with my day of leisure and shopping for my wife instead of the stress of trying to get into the park.
