Hi all,

My family and I will be visiting WDW again this May and I just
thought I would see if there is anything going on at the parks
that would make it a bit more croweded than usual.

We'll be there for a week starting May 22nd.

We're starting our planning and will be thankful for any advice you can give again!

Thanks so much!

Tamm

Star wars weekend is also the following weekend.
I went on Memorial Day in 2008, but in 2009 I went earlier in the month of May. Memorial day weekend is much more crowded than the weekdays preceding it.

Good time to visit in my opinion... it's really warming up by then and then the crowds are only moderate but this is only a guesstimate.

I'm going to make my normal May trip this year. Last year, in 2009, it was nice when I went in early May. Warm enough to be nice and hot, but not too bad. There wasn't too much rain.

Late May, 2009, was very rainy.

Memorial Day weekend is kind of crowded, but the week leading up to it through Thursday is really light crowds. Plus, because June is when the crowds start hot and heavy, Disney is usually operating with more staff and more lanes / lines open especially when compared to late January or early February.

It is a great time to go. The kids are not quite out of school yet, and people generally don't pull kids from school in May. Teenagers have finals, and grade schoolers have a lot of little end of year events that they do.

You will see a larger proportion of foreigners, families with young children, people without kids, and maybe some magic music days school groups. The roller coasters wait lines typically aren't crowded with really noisy groups of teenagers at this time of year.

That week in May is great time to visit for Spring or Summer. It is a much slower time to visit Disney World during this week. Be sure you take advantage of some of the Disney discounts in May - there are some great ones.

Thank you to everyone for your posts. I greatly appreciate the help! :)

We are looking forward to our trip, especially since my nephew is a little older (9) and can remember it a little more. He's sooo excited now.

Thanks again!!!

Tammy
