The 20th annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival coming spring 2013. Amid a colorful tableau of flowers, plants and topiaries, Walt Disney World guests of all ages can explore myriad exhibits and activities geared toward gardening and outdoor fun. Weekend Flower Power concerts will pump up the volume and spread a groovy vibe at America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase.

New this year, Food will be featured with landscaping and flowers! Disney chefs will feature special culinary stations and offer festival-exclusive food and beverages along World Showcase Promenade.

Also new for 2013: a “Land of Oz” play area, a themed setting based on the Walt Disney Pictures live-action film “Oz The Great and Powerful” (set to debut in theatres March 8), Radiator Springs interactive play zone, Tinker Bell’s Butterfly House, more than 100 topiaries, nearly 250 floating mini-gardens, dozens of flower towers and beds of multi-colored blooms.

A 14-foot-tall Disney character topiary can be found at the park’s front entrance featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto Daisy and Donald Duck. Future World and World Showcase will cast a colorful glow over each festival evening, with a feature succinctly named “Illuminated Gardens.”  Also featured in topiary form: the stars from the upcoming Disney-Pixar animated feature film “Monsters University,” and the inventive duo of Phineas & Ferb, from the hit Disney Channel animated series.

Debuting in 2013 year:

  • Garden Marketplace culinary creations ranging from smokehouse barbecue and shrimp with grits and Zellwood corn to sweet “frushi” made with fresh fruits and coconut rice. Chefs are perfecting menus for marketplaces that will include Florida Fresh at World Showcase Promenade, Smokehouse Barbecue and Brew at American Adventure courtyard, Primavera Kitchen at Italy showcase, Hanami at Japan showcase and eight others around the World Showcase promenade.
  • Garden Marketplace refreshing libations with a kick like Hot Sun Tomato Wine from Florida Orange Groves Winery and Dole Whip with Spiced Rum, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade and Wild Berry Slush.
  • A new, circus-like “Land of Oz” play area based on the Disney fantastical film adventure “Oz: The Great and Powerful” to be released March 8, 2013. The interactive children’s play zone will feature play systems adorned with giant flowers and designed to stretch kids’ imaginations and muscles. Midway-style games, red-and-white circus-themed tents and the “Oz Movie Garden” of intriguing plants will capture the spirit of the upcoming film.
  • Larger-than-life Fab Five Disney character topiary. Floral versions of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck (with Daisy Duck in a cameo) star in a celebratory cookout scene in living topiary color. The 14-foot-tall Goofy topiary will bobble an anniversary cake while Donald and Daisy play badminton, Mickey fires up the grill, Pluto swipes a link of hot dogs and Minnie chills out on a colorful blanket of blossoms.
  • Illuminated Gardens in the Park’s Future World and World Showcase will twinkle and glow over the festival’s world-famous Disney gardens and topiaries each festival evening.

New this year, food will also be featured:

  • Pineapple Promenade at World Showcase Promenade: Dole Whip; Dole Whip with spiced rum; pineapple upside-down cake; Dole pineapple fruit cup; frozen desert violet lemonade; cream stout beer.
  • The Cottage: Savories, Trifles and Tea at United Kingdom pavilion: Potato, chive and cheddar cheese biscuit with smoked salmon tartare and sour cream; baked goat's brie with kumquat chutney; heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella, vinegar and basil; trifles (chocolate, berry, ginger and tea); hot and iced teas; Brut Rosé sparkling wine; Rose Blush lemonade.
  • L'Orangerie at France: Ratatouille tarte with goat cheese; pate with baguette and cherry compote; peach charlotte; frozen cocktail; Chardonnay; Cabernet Sauvignon; Sparkling Muscat.
  • Taste of Marrakesh at Morocco: Spiced lamb kebab with couscous salad; harissa and lemon confit chicken drumettes with chermoula and cucumber salad; Moroccan sweet pancake; sparkling wine with pomegranate liqueur; white sangria; red wine; Moroccan beer; mint iced tea with peach.
  • Hanami at Japan: Frushi (fruit sushi — made with fresh fruit and coconut rice); grilled shrimp, salmon and crab stick over ginger rice; grilled vegetables with Japanese noodles and teriyaki on a bun; green tea flan; yuzu rita; fruit saki; sake; frozen Kirin Ichiban.
  • The Smokehouse at American Adventure: Pulled pig slider with cole slaw; smoked beef brisket with collard greens and jalapeno cornbread; rocky road mousse brownie; red wine; craft beer; beer flight.
  • Primavera Kitchen at Italy: Green asparagus and lobster with garden cocktail sauce; lasagna primavera; Limoncello-flavored panna cotta; Pinot Grigio; Chianti; Prosecco; white peach bellini; Strawberry Rossini; Italian Primavera Cocktail; Italian beers; Italian-beer flight.
  • Bauernmarkt, near Germany: Savory bread pudding with spring peas and wild mushroom ragout; German meatloaf sandwich with sweet mustard and fried shallots; potato pancakes with apple sauce; Hugo – elderflower sparkling wine cocktail; German and domestic beers; beer flight.
  • Lotus House in China: Beijing-style candied strawberries; spring pancake with grilled chicken and green apple; Taro-bacon puff pastry; bubble teas; fruit beverage cocktail, Chinese beer.
  • Jardin de Fiestas in Mexico: Crab tostadas with chipotle aioli and salsa; pork tacos served over flour tortilla; guava flan; rosita margarita; organic tequila flight, Mexican beer.
  • Florida Fresh at World Showcase Promenade: Watermelon salad with pickled red onions, babyarugula, feta cheese and balsamic reduction; shrimp and stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, Zellwood corn, tomatoes and cilantro; angel food cake; tomato wine; carrot wine; Florida beer; strawberry slush drink.
  • Fruits by the Glass at World Showcase Plaza: Watermelon passion fruit cocktail; wild berry slush; blueberry beer; mango wine; blueberry wine; raspberry ale; Chardonnay; Pinot Noir.
  • The festival, known for elaborate plantings and topiaries, runs from March 6 to May 19. It's included in regular Epcot admission.
