    • New Duplo ValleyLEGOLAND Florida announced today new attractions and renovations to the theme park’s toddler area, which will be called DUPLO Valley when it reopens in spring 2014. Planned enhancements will bring the LEGO DUPLO line of preschool building toys to life with new farm-themed attractions, an air-conditioned indoor play area, and a water play area all geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5. DUPLO Valley will be the ideal place for park guests to play and relax with their toddlers.

    • New attractions coming to DUPLO Valley include a train, a mini tractor ride, and a water play area. The central feature will be the DUPLO Train where toddlers can board a train on their own or with their parents to explore countryside-themed scenery passing through farms, fishing holes and campgrounds. Just across the way, toddlers can jump on a tractor just their size and help the farmers plow the cornfields and hunt for missing farm animals. For those looking to cool off, the new splash and play area will be refreshingly fun with intermittent water spouts and interactive water elements set among larger than life farm animals with a soft deck for safety.

The World of Chima, a new land at LEGOLAND Florida, is now open, just in time for the summer months.  The land has something for everyone in the family, including a water play area, an interactive ride, and a super-charged LEGO vehicle race.

The World of Chima includes Quest for CHI, an interactive water ride, play areas for kids of all ages, a 4-D movie, and character meet and greets.  The Quest for CHI starts at the Lion Temple and Mount Cavora, a 55-foot tall floating waterfall mountain, where guests board one of the Lion Tribe's Watercrafts.  Guests shoot water canons at targets in the ride to activate scenes, similar to Lost Kingdom Adventure, as well as guests in other boats and on land in order to help Laval the Lion Prince retrieve the stolen CHI from Craggar the Crocodile King.

This new land is a first for LEGOLAND since Chima is a brand new show and toy line.  The toys and characters might be familiar to some children since they are already available in stores and online.  When we visited LEGOLAND a couple of weeks ago, half of the children in our group were excited for the Chima Meet and Greet and knew the characters from the LEGO Chia products.  LEGO Legends of Chima, a new LEGO cartoon, will debut on Cartoon Network on July 10th at 8 p.m.  For any children that don't already know about LEGO Chima, the new show will introduce these new LEGO characters and spark an interest in the new product line and new land at LEGOLAND Florida.

Visiting LEGOLAND is a perfect way to spend a day in Central Florida as a family.  The park is geared towards children, which means all of the rides are accessible to those 12 and under.  The apple fries, LEGO Star Wars Miniland, and Island in the Sky are my favorite things about LEGOLAND Florida.   I can now add The World of Chima to that list, since it provides a refreshing break from the sun.  Once LEGO Legends of Chima premieres on Cartoon Network, I expect the line to meet Laval the Lion Prince will be even longer due to his new popularity.  We will definitely try out the Quest for CHI on our next visit so we can help Laval the Lion Prince on his search for the perfect CHI.
