The Dolphin Cove area in SeaWorld Orlando will reopen March 2, 2015 with periodic soft openings happening up until that date. The newly renovated area will now offer a dolphin up-close experience for those that would like to interact with the animals in small groups of 10 lasting approximately 10 minutes with nearly 5 minutes of interaction including some hands on experience and photo opportunities led by a SeaWorld trainer. The new experience is more personalized and is now more similar to what is found in other SeaWorld parks. Guests will no longer be able to feed the animals which used to cost $7, the new experience is $15 per person however there is still an area that guests can get up close to the animals without paying for the dolphin up close experience. Reservations for the Dolphin Encounter experience are recommended but not required.
