Bravo 'rgjarrell'... that shows you are a seasoned cruiser.
It's good to bring along the medicine, just in case for emergency. My wife has this problem too. so she will pop 1-2 pills before the trip.

I didn't think it was that much info.
Two things you can do: find a spot where the motion is less severe, and modify your diet (before the potential problem).
Once you get fairly motion sick, (and especially if you throw up), it's probably best to get take medicine at that point.
